Welcome back for the Summer Term!

Welcome Back For The Summer Term!

Welcome back to our Nursery Children, Parents and Carers. We hope you have all had a lovely 2 week break together.

For the first week of our Summer Term in Nursery, we are going to be exploring the topic of Easter and New Life. We will be going on a walk around school looking for signs of Spring and will be talking about the baby animals that are being born at this time of the year. We will also be carrying out a science experiment to see which material is the best to protect Humpty Dumpty when he falls off a wall! We will be using eggs and different materials, such as cotton wool and sand, to see if Humpty will crack every time we drop him.

On Tuesday 16th and Wednesday 17th April, Nursery and Reception are looking forward to welcoming our grown ups into school to enjoy some Easter craft activities with us.

School will be closed for the Bank Holiday Weekend, from 19th April to 22nd April.

Then on the 23rd April, we are going to be celebrating St George’s Day by painting our faces, reading the George and the Dragon story, and making dragon puppets.

Also, on the 23rd, 24th and 25th April, the Nursery Children will be performing the Nursery Rhymes they have learned at home, for the class. If they would like to bring in props or a costume to wear when performing, the children are very welcome to.

For the rest of the half term, we will be continuing with our ‘People Who Help Us’ topic. A Nurse will be visiting us to talk about her important role in our community, and our Caretaker will be coming into our classroom so we can ask him lots of questions about what he does to help us at St Andrews Primary School.
