I have been made aware of a very alarming new game, the details of which are below:
It has been identified that a SELF HARMING on line GAME called Blue Whale encourages young people to self harm for 50 days and then commit suicide on the last day. Young people carve a whale on their forearm. We understand it originates in Russia, and that there have been increased numbers of suicide in Russia and already two completed suicide incidents in Hampshire and two near misses.
The potential consequences of this are quite shocking. If you wish to talk more about this, or other potential internet safety concerns, come to our internet safety breakfast this WEDNESDAY 26th April 2017 @ 9am. Toast, cereal and hot drink will be provided for free.
