End of term in Y2…

Happy holidays Y2!

Well it’s finally arrived- the last day of term! And what a term we have had in Y2!!! It has been an incredibly busy but exciting time; we’ve certainly had great fun completing all of our practical learning tasks. The children have worked extremely hard and been true superstars…

Firstly, we would like to say a HUGE thank you for the tremendous effort that was put into creating the model Tudor houses this week… they were wonderful and very impressive! On Tuesday afternoon, firefighter Damien came to visit us and helped us with recreating The Great Fire. He began with a fire safety ‘brief’, then we gathered outside to observe him set the models alight. It was a super opportunity for the children to be able to watch the fire spread, as it gave them a clear, first-hand experience of how easily and quickly fire burns. We also used the experience to discuss how the victims must of felt to have their homes, businesses and valuables burnt to the ground in 1666.

Thank you Damien…

We would like to finish by saying how fabulous all the children look today in their yellow attire to celebrate and support our Rainbow Day… what a great way to finish for the October break! On that same note, we wish all of our families a lovely half-term holiday and we will see you back on Monday 30th October.
