Welcome back after our half-term break. Please find attached the Autumn 2 newsletter, giving details of all events happening this half-term.
Yesterday Damien, a firefighter from the Manchester Fire Service visited Year 6. He explained to the children the potential hazards which can occur with both fireworks and bonfires. Damien encouraged the children to attend organised bonfire events as these were safer. He also spoke about the kind of clothing to wear and not to put jeans instead wellies etc., as sparks from sparklers could get trapped and cause burning. The children were also very interested in the duties firefighters carry out on a day to day basis.
