Life Without Electricity!
Year 4 have been finding out what life would be like without electricity. Today we have used no Ipads, Interactive Whiteboard, Laptops or even lights.
We cleaned and washed clothes without a washing machine. We tried to control the ‘traffic’ without traffic lights. We planned an electric free party. We set up our own envelope factory with no electrical machinery. And played board games to entertain ourselves.
All in all, we all agreed that we had had lots of fun exploring this concept, and discussed the pros and cons of using electricity, thinking about climate change, our mental health, and the safety and enjoyment electricity provides in our lives.
Tomorrow we will be finding out how much electricity we have saved within school by switching everything off…
