What a busy week!
We have been so busy this week, going on dinosaur hunts, recording our maths work in different ways such as tally charts, making estimations of different amounts of objects. We have also been on an autumn walk, whilst on our walk we used the IPads to take photos of autumn leaves, collected leaves to use in our creative area and we also did observational drawings of the leaves and trees that we saw.
Additionally, we also had our handwriting session outdoors and practised forming our letters using paint and coloured pens..we call this ‘rainbow writing’.
Next, we all made our own toast incorporating maths into our fun activity by talking about fractions whilst we cut our toast up into halves and quarters! We kept safe by being super sensible whilst using the toaster!
We met our new teaching assistant Mrs Newton.
We have also had a ‘rainbow day’ to raise awareness of the award School are aiming to receive ‘The Rainbow Award’. We all dressed in red and created rainbows…we even had a party!
As as you are aware Ofsted have also visited, the children in Reception were absolutely amazing and welcomed them into our classroom. The children loved speaking to them about their learning and experiences in school.
Have a lovely break,
Miss Smith
