At St Andrews we value the importance of good attendance as it has a valuable impact on the education of children. I have found some interesting facts about attendance which highlight how lateness and low attendance can impact on the amount of time in school:
- 90% attendance means your child has missed 4 weeks of school which is 100 hours of lessons
- A two week holiday in term time will reduce your child’s attendance to less than 95%
- Arriving 5 minutes late every day adds up to 3 days lost in a year
- Arriving 15 minutes late every day is equal to 2 weeks lost in a year
