Anglo Saxon Crime and Punishment

Today we looked at how crime and punishment has changed over the years.

We learnt that the Anglo Saxons did not have prisons so punishments often involved paying a fine to a victim or their family. For some crimes, a body part could be chopped off. People had their hands, toes and even their noses chopped off!

We created our own court rooms and the children chose a suitable Anglo Saxon crime and punishment…

We also made a start on our brooches!
